Dr. David Harrison

My Philosophy on Medical Practice

I believe that self-care is at the heart of health-care. When the human body is treated with care, the body has an amazing ability to heal itself. The art of medicine is knowing when to be a spectator and when to be an active participant in the healing process.

I believe that my role as a health care professional is to support you in achieving your personal health-care goals. Achieving these goals is best done through education, careful discussion and respect of your values.

I believe that it is just as important to address both the immediate symptoms and to find the underlying cause. Finding the underlying cause is the key to preventing the reoccurrence of symptoms.

I believe in the individual’s right to a compassionate and supportive partnership with their physician. I will endeavour to understand your daily habits and support your long-term health.

I believe that medicine is an evolving ocean of knowledge. To provide patients quality health-care, the physician must commit to constant study, curiosity and the humility to navigate it
